WJG SPORTS BASKETBALL POWER RANKINGS NO.2

2 min read

After a wild week in the coverage area, we’re ready for the next set of basketball power rankings. To recap some of the biggest matchups this week, Goldsboro took Kinston down to the wire before falling in double overtime. Aycock hit a tough stretch in Pitt County after losing both games at J.H. Rose and D.H. Conley.

Both West Johnston teams picked up two big wins over Smithfield Selma and both games also took four extra minutes. Each of the Clayton squads took care of business against South Johnston while the Southern Wayne Lady Saints picked up an upset win over South Central. Despite losing big at Kinston, the Greene Central girls have won four of their last six games after starting 0-7.

As always, we’ll have a top 10 player and team rankings list for both the girls and the boys that’ll be updated every week until the state playoffs.
