Football season has come and gone in the WJG Sports coverage area. All-area teams have been announced and you can find those on our website. We’re now fully into the 2019-20 high school basketball season here at WJG Sports. After much consideration, we’ve decided to bring back the WJG power rankings for girls and boys basketball in Wayne, Johnston, and Greene County.

We’ll have a top 10 player and team rankings list for both the girls and the boys that’ll be updated every week until the state playoffs. Coming into the new year, a lot of teams have made really good cases to be among the top teams in the area. With that in mind, here are the first set of power rankings as of January 6, 2020.
