1 min readSMITHFIELD — Cleveland volleyball got back to .500 in this young season with a straight set road win over 3-A Greater Neuse Conference opponent Smithfield-Selma on Tuesday.
The Rams (2-2, 2-0 GNRC) won their second straight game in as many days as the Rams beat East Wake on Monday as well. The young Cleveland team lost 40% of their team last year to graduation and started out 0-2, but bounced back this week. The program has never lost to the Spartans (0-4, 0-2) in their 10-year varsity history.
SSS dropped to 0-4 and are still looking for their first win since August of 2017. The Spartans have lost 58 straight games in that time. The Spartans will be back in action next week against South Johnston.
Cleveland will play Clayton on Tuesday.
