3 min read
10 weeks of high school football have been completed in the WJG Sports coverage area. In Johnston County, Cleveland made a big statement by defeating county rival Clayton while West Johnston lost on a last second touchdown against East Wake. North Johnston playoff hopes took a huge hit in a road loss North Pitt.
South Johnston is now on a three game winning streak after their blowout win over Smithfield-Selma. Princeton and Rosewood took care of business and they’re still on course fortheir rivalry matchup on November 8th. Greene Central struggled to get anything going in their loss to West Craven.
C.B. Aycock’s slide continued with a tough road loss to D.H. Conley. Eastern Wayne’s struggles continued in a loss to J.H. Rose. Arguably, the biggest win of the week came when the Goldsboro Cougars knocked off James Kenan to keep their playoff hopes alive. Corinth Holders fought hard, but came out on the wrong end of their game against Wakefield. In the end. WJG coverage area teams went 5-8 during week 10.
