Brooks-ing The Huddle

There are three football teams left in the WJG Sports coverage area heading into round two of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association playoffs. For this week’s playoff matchups, C.B. Aycock head football coach Steve Brooks joined Kai Jones to talk about the three matchups.

The WJG Sports Game of the Week is fifth seed in the 3-AA playoffs, Cleveland, at fourth seeded D.H. Conley. Brooks hosted Cleveland at Aycock’s annual jamboree in June and the Falcons played Conley this season.

No. 1 seed in the 1-A East region, Rosewood, will host No. 8 South Creek. Brooks played against the Eagles earlier this season.

Five-seeded Princeton will travel to Spencer, North Carolina to play North Rowan. Brooks hasn’t played or seen Princeton yet this season, but is familiar with Princeton’s offense and is good friends with Bulldogs head coach Travis Gaster.
