Rosewood’s Dhimany Fenty had 16 carries for 293 yards and six touchdowns against Wake Christian last Friday night. It came the same week that Fenty had earned a scholarship offer Montana State.
“It was a great feeling for my whole team,” Fenty said. “I couldn’t do it without my offensive line.”
The Rosewood offensive line was busy Friday night as they helped the offense run 36 times for over 600 rushing yards. So for that, Fenty agreed to share his Football Player of the Week with the entire offensive line.
“I’m stoked,” Will Teague said. “I don’t think it would’ve been right for one of us to win it all. All of us together is the best way to do it.”
Rosewood had doubts coming in at offensive line, but the questions seemed to have been answered as the Eagles are averaging 53 points a game.
“It’s like the most satisfying feeling ever when you prove somebody wrong,” Jonah Clark, the lone returning offensive lineman, said.
“A lot of people thought because we were so small that there would be no chance to move the ball as well as we have,” Jake Phlippeau added.
The offensive line has even begun a celebration of their own that has been dubbed the “Hog Bomb.”
“We all love what we do,” Trevor Gerow said. “We all just get it done.”
The Eagles beat the Wake Christian 71-33 in a game that last four hours and 59 minutes. Clark and the rest of the lineman say they got in plenty of conditioning that night.
“For the first time ever, I was actually sore after the game,” Clark said. “What conditioning I didn’t get in the last three weeks — I got Friday.”
Jake Phlippeau, Trevor Gerow, Will Teague Dhimany Fenty, Jonah Clark and Matthew Wade are the WJG Sports Football Player of the Week.
