WJG SPORTS FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: C.B. Aycock’s Alijuan Moore

“Yeah, I’m the hype man,” C.B. Aycock senior Alijuan Moore said. “You could say I’m the hype man.”
Moore has been the energizer for the 6-2 Falcons and has earned the WJG Sports Football Player of the Week Award. Against Southern Wayne, his tipped pass ended up in Seth Shepherd’s hands for a pick-6 that put the game out of reach.
“We definitely got our chemistry,” Shepherd said. “He tipped it and I just grabbed it ran it all the way back.”
It was a special moment for the duo who have played together so long, they consider each other brothers.
“Both of us getting credit for it, that’s a big thing,” Moore said.
Moore wasn’t done as he grabbed a touchdown to start the second half. Moore finished the night with 8 grabs, 138 yards and two touchdowns.
“It felt great to see the fans react,” Moore said. “Feels great to keep pumping everyone up.”
The senior wideout said him and the team are excited about the run they’re on and it’s special to have it during his senior year, but he wants the team to stay focused.
“We got to come to practice ready,” Moore said. “Then Friday we just got to execute and put everything together.”
