Clayton’s Keele gets one last high school memory

GREENSBORO — It was a bittersweet Wednesday for Clayton’s Connor Keele at the North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All-Star Game in Jamieson Stadium.
The center watched from the sidelines in a no. 53 jersey and khaki shorts as the East defeated the West, 20-8. Keele could not play because he suffered a mild concussion in practice while playing too hard.
“I’m glad I could come out here and support the team,” Keele said with a smile on his face. “Being at Clayton, I was surrounded by talent, but we had some holes. I don’t think we had any holes on this team. We were amazing through and through. It was amazing, all the people were incredible and all the coaches were amazing. It was an incredible experience to get to connect with all the players.”
Keele anchored an offensive line that helped the Comets to a 9-3 record as well as put up over 400 yards a game.
